Prefer to keep busy? Explore the unique environment of the Coorong National Park, take a drive on the beach, kayak across the lagoon, hike trails or try catching your dinner in the lagoon.

The Space

Coorong Aurora has everything you need for your escape. Two bedrooms downstairs have queen size beds, and upstairs you will find a further two bedrooms – one with a queen bed, and the other with two singles.

We have stocked the kitchen with everything you need to cook up a storm, and a large BBQ is on the rear patio, sheltered from the breeze.

Our large, comfy couches are positioned around the wood burning combustion heater – we guarantee you’ll doze off watching the changing water views.

We have a range of books and games to keep you entertained, a television and sound system.

We have provided two kayaks and life jackets for guests, so have fun, but always check the weather forecast as things change quickly in the Coorong.

Guest Interaction

Coorong Aurora is fully self-contained for your privacy. We encourage you to call us if you require assistance or have any questions during your stay, and above all, we will respect your privacy.

The Coorong is a magical place! Surrounded by water and jaw-dropping scenery around every corner, the region has so much to offer visitors.

The Coorong National Park predominantly covers a lagoon ecosystem known as The Coorong, which is where Coorong Aurora is situated. The Coorong is an internationally significant wetland, recognised as a migratory bird refuge.

Separated from the Southern Ocean by sand dunes that form the Younghusband Peninsula, the Coorong is your playground. You can walk and cycle trails, fish, try out kayaking in the lagoon or lake, or birdwatch. If you have a 4WD then you can drive along the beach of the Peninsula.

Coorong Aurora is just a 10 minute drive to Meningie, which has amenities including a supermarket and bakery. Remember that shops are not open late, so it’s always best to be prepared.

Getting Around

A 4WD is a great option in the Coorong, but not necessary. Visitors can get to many of the sites by car, including close to the beach.

If driving on the beach, be aware and mindful of the dangers of unpredictable tides. Always watch the weather forecast, and observe advisory signs.
