The Coorong has lots of options for happy campers, from caravan parks on the lake or river (Lake Albert Caravan Park at Meningie is the spot for epic sunsets over the water), to 4WDriving and camping on spectacular Coorong beaches.
Winter in the Coorong is beautiful, so now is a great time to banish the Winter blues, and escape with family and friends.
Exclusive, private, waterfront campsites
If you’re set up to camp off the grid, and you like your privacy, then this is the spot for you. The advantage of being self-sufficient is that you don’t have to share your secret spot with hordes of other people. In fact, there are only two camp sites on the property, and they are out of sight of each other.
You’ll be impressed with the spectacular views of Kennedy Bay on Lake Albert, which you can enjoy from your private spot on the water’s edge.
The Farm Stay Manager, Margy, stays on site and was born and bred in the Coorong. She can tell you all the secrets of the Coorong, like the best access points to the beach and lagoons, and where to find the hidden fig tree that all the locals raid.
She welcomes small groups, well behaved pets and campfires (in season).
Group Camping
Travelling with a larger group or extended family? This group camping site is ideal for groups of up to 20, who can set up camp in the Meningie Oval grounds, and utilise the club room amenities.
There are toilets and showers, a common room, a large undercover area, and a commercial kitchen with all the bells and whistles. It’s built to serve hordes of netballers, so it’s ideal for camping groups.
The town oval is a great central location within close walking distance to town amenities, walking and cycling tracks, and Lake Albert is just across the road. Get a group together and explore, cycle, birdwatch, 4WD on the beaches or fish. There is so much to do in the stunning Coorong, and it’s all just minutes away.
